Mystic woman arrested after crash

MYSTIC — A 60-year-old woman was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs after she drove into the old Mystic Mill, 11 Main St., Tuesday night.

Stonington police report Monica Ann Chapman, of 290 Godfry Road, was traveling north on Route 27 when she “veered off the road” hitting the building. Stonington police, fire and emergency medical services were on the scene, said Capt. Jerry Desmond this morning.

Chapman was reportedly uninjured. She was taken to the station where she was processed and later released on a promise to appear for a court appearance on Nov. 1.
