HOPKINTON — A weeklong investigation by Hopkinton detectives led to the arrest of a local man on drug charges on Sept. 9.
Jason D. Way, 34, of 316 Canonchet Road, faces charges of manufacturing/cultivation of marijuana, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Members of the Hopkinton Police Department’s detective division executed a search warrant of Way’s Canonchet Road home. While searching a trailer on the premises, police found marijuana plants that had been cut and were drying, waiting to be harvested. There was one pound of marijuana, two mature marijuana plants, and several hundred marijuana branches containing marijuana buds.
Detectives also seized 50 prescription pills that have been sent to toxicology for testing.
Way was arraigned in front of Justice of the Peace Joseph Scott, and was referred to a Sept. 25 felony screening. He has numerous past arrests in Rhode Island, dating back to 1997.
