Don Reynolds, the Westerly Senior Center director, will be honored at a fundraising dinner Saturday at 6 p.m. at the senior center. A social hour with appetizers will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. A full turkey dinner with Italian wedding soup, turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and desserts will be prepared by George Routhier.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the center office. Tickets are advanced sale only.
Don has been with the center since 1983, when he served as an intern under the directorship of Jill Baker and served as administrative assistant, and then social worker. In 1988, when Jill left the center, Don became director, where he has remained.
The Board of Directors, staff, and membership of the center are very proud of Don because he has overseen the building of the present facility and its expansion. What started as a membership of approximately 300 members has grown to a high of 1,600 members with more than 4,000 individuals using the center for activities and programs, trips, social services, and special services.
Congratulations, Don, and let’s start the next 30 years!
