RICHMOND — A Hopkinton man is facing multiple charges in connection with a June 19 road rage incident along Old Mountain Trail in which he forced another car off the road, injuring two people.

The man, William J. Griffin, 21, of 289 Woodville Road, was charged with driving to endanger, leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, reckless driving and disorderly conduct.

According to a police report, the collision occurred at about 6 p.m. near the intersection of Hillside Road and Old Mountain Trail. Police arrived to find a car that had rolled onto its side. Both of its occupants were treated for minor injuries, the police said.

An investigation revealed that road rage preceded the crash. The police said Griffin became aggressive and forced the second car off the road. He then fled the scene.

The police obtained a warrant and Griffin was notified that there were charges pending. He turned himself in on July 6.

Griffin was arraigned before a justice of the peace at the Richmond Police Department and released on personal recognizance pending a felony screening in Rhode Island Superior Court later this summer, police said. Rhode Island judicial records did not list an upcoming court date in the case.
