STONINGTON — Police responding to reports of an erratic driver on Route 1 discovered weapons and four types of marijuana products and drug paraphernalia on Thursday.

Zebulon A. Park, 23, of 2 Michael Lane, Hope Valley, was arrested just before 11 p.m. on charges that included two counts of possession of illegal weapons in a motor vehicle, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Stonington police report said that officers were dispatched after a caller reported a driver who “was all over the road.” An officer found Park’s car in the commuter lot near the intersection of Route 1 and North Main Street. The officer smelled marijuana and Park admitted he had the drug on him. In a search of the car, the police found a 12-inch knife with a 7-inch blade, an unloaded shotgun, more than an ounce of marijuana, hash, cannabis shards (a processed form of marijuana extract), “an elixir said to have THC,” and a pipe, according to the police report.

The items were seized as evidence and Park was taken into custody. He was released on bond and is expected to appear in New London Superior Court for arraignment later this month.
