Stonington police announce road closures for annual Mystic Half Marathon

The Hartford Marathon Foundation will produce the Mystic Half Marathon & 10K on Sunday, May 21, in the communities of Stonington and Groton.

With approximately 2,200 athletes expected to participate in the run event, residents are advised to be aware of traffic impact and limited road closures affecting the area from 7 to 10

The following roads will be closed (all times are a.m.):

— Coogan Boulevard (Maritime Drive to Jerry Browne Road): 7–10

— Route 27 (Coogan Boulevard to Holmes Street): 7–7:10

— Holmes Street: 7–7:10

— Route 1 (Holmes Street – Pearl Street): 7–7:30

— Pearl Street: : 7–7:30.

— Grove Street: 7:10–8:10

— River Road: 7:10–8:10

— Jerry Browne Road (Route 27 to Coogan Boulevard): 7:30–8:45

— Deer Ridge Road (Jerry Browne Road to Jacobs Way): 7:30–8:45

— Jerry Brownes Road (Coogan Boulevard to Mistuxet Avenue): 7:30–10

— Mistuxet Avenue: 7:30–10

— Deans Mill Road: 7:40–10

— Flanders Road: 7:40–10

— Pellegrino Road: 7:40–10

The following roads will remain open for use by vehicles and race participants:

— Route 27 (River Road to Jerry Browne Road): Alternating one way traffic: 7:20–8:25

— Pequot Trail (Deans Mill Road to Flanders Road): 7:40–10
