STONINGTON — State Rep. Diana Urban (D-North Stonington, Stonington) spoke at the Taking Action for Animals conference in Washington, D.C., in late June. The conference, sponsored by The Humane Society, is the premier national conference for animal advocacy and offers activities, workshops, and speakers related to improving the lives of animals.
Rep. Urban was one of three state lawmakers from around the country to speak during the “Hearing from Human Lawmakers,” panel.
Rep. Urban discussed her work on animal protection legislation in Connecticut, advised animal advocates on how to help advance humane legislation, and participated in a question-and-answer session with conference guests.
Rep. Urban was also asked to join humane society’s National Legislative Advisory Council along with 19 other legislators from across the country.
Representative Urban serves Stonington’s 43rd Assembly District, and is the House Chair of the legislature’s Children’s Committee.
