South County Hospital program on tick bites and Lyme disease

NORTH KINGSTOWN — South County Hospital will host a lecture, “Lyme Disease and Tick Bites: What you should know if you’ve been bitten,” at North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone St., on Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Infectious disease specialist Fredric Silverblatt, M.D., a top Rhode Island Lyme disease expert, will discuss how to recognize the Lyme disease-carrying tick, what should be done if you spot a rash, ways to avoid ticks, symptoms and treatments for Lyme disease and options if traditional treatments fail.

The lecture is free. To register, visit schospital.com or call 401-788-1621.
