  • Mystic & Noank Library hosting lecture by Stonington resident

MYSTIC — Mystic & Noank Library will host an illustrated lecture by Stonington resident Ray Uzanas on June 18 at 7 p.m.

Uzanas will share stories and photographs of his recent travels to the Central Asian countries that are part of the fabled Silk Road of antiquity. These former states of the old Soviet Union, collectively referred to as the “Stans,” are a region governed under dictatorships, rife with geopolitical turbulence, and in some regions, its people living in the harshest of environments.

Uzanas worked as a chemist in the industrial diamond industry before pursuing a career as a writer, photographer and adventurer. In the past two years, Uzanas has traveled to Indonesia, Patagonia, the Arctic Circle, Australia and New Guinea.

For more information, visit mysticnoanklibrary.org, call 860-536-7721, or email info@mysticnoanklibrary.org. The talk is free and open to the public.
