Nominate someone for Relay’s Courage Award

WESTERLY — The Relay For Life of Westerly is still accepting nominations for this year’s Courage Award, which will be presented during the opening ceremonies of Relay For Life on Friday, June 20, at 6 p.m., at the Stonington High School track.

The Courage Award recognizes local cancer survivors who have triumphed over cancer, made significant contributions to cancer control and have impacted the lives of others. Every Courage Award recipient symbolizes the courageous struggle that all cancer patients endure.

To nominate someone for the 2014 Relay For Life of Westerly Courage Award, submit an essay detailing why the person being nominated deserves to receive the award. Include as much detail as possible (including the nominee’s contact information) in order for the committee to get to know the person and their struggle and triumph over cancer. Nominees must be living in the community.

The deadline for submission is Monday. Nominations should be emailed to westerlysurvivor@hotmail.com.
