Edward M. Kennedy Institute and John F. Kennedy Library — Thursday, Nov. 9. Cost: $60 due at time of reservation. Departs at 6 a.m. When you arrive in Boston, you will have time for shopping and/or lunch on your own at the Prudential Center. Then we’ll travel to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, which offers a variety of exhibits that provide the history of the Senate. You’ll have the opportunity to become a “senator in training” as you grapple with the big issues facing the Senate today. It’s a short walk to the JFK Library, where you’ll step back into the time of the 1960s and experience the firsthand life and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Experience the major events of his presidency in the 25 dramatic exhibits. (South Kingstown Parks & Recreation).

Christmas in New York — Saturday, Dec. 2. Cost: $58. Balance due Nov. 2. Join us for our annual shopping trip to New York City. You may do as you wish from shopping, checking out the lights and decorations on Fifth Avenue, enjoying a Broadway show or the Radio City Spectacular, or enjoying a leisurely day in New York. Drop off points will be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Rockefeller Center. Pickup will be on Madison Avenue. If you plan to take in a show, please purchase tickets for a 1 or 2 p.m. show as departure will be at 5:30 p.m. (South Kingstown Parks & Recreation).

Needed: Wheelchairs with foot rests, transport wheelchairs, shower benches, shower chairs, transfer benches, three- or four-prong canes, walkers with wheels, and “strollers” in good, used condition to lend to area seniors.

Monday – Today’s meal is Italian vegetable lentil soup, chicken parmesan, roasted potato, baby carrots, and Angel Food cake for dessert. Secondary option is BLT on wheat.

Tuesday – Today’s meal is escarole and bean soup, liver and onions, mashed potatoes, green beans and pudding for dessert. Secondary option is Italian grinder.

Wednesday – Today’s meal is Caprese salad, chicken and sausage chili, mashed cauliflower, corn bread and sliced melon for dessert. Secondary option is seafood salad plate.

Thursday – Today’s meal is cream of mushroom soup, roasted beef brisket with gravy, potato salad, and chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Secondary option is Waldorf salad with chicken.

Friday – Today’s meal is vegetable curry soup, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, stir fry vegetable salad, and fruit salad for dessert. Secondary option is turkey and Swiss on multigrain bread.

Borrow, renew, and browse, or do research. Bring a list of books you would like to borrow and they will bring the books. Learn to search the digital library catalog, how to use a Kindle or other e-reader, and how to borrow e-books through the library.
