WESTERLY — Police are looking for a male suspect in connection with Tuesday’s robbery of the Washington Trust Company’s branch at McQuade’s Marketplace on Main Street.
The robbery was reported to police at 10:45 a.m.
Responding officers were told a male suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash after handing a teller a note demanding cash.
No weapon was shown.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years of age, with dark hair, a dark beard or goatee, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and carrying a backpack.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released as the investigation continues, according to a police department press release.
