Jaconetta completes Chicago


Westerly native Joe Jaconetta, the son of Charles E. and Margaret A. Jaconetta of Midland Avenue in Westerly, ran the Chicago Marathon with Team Determination, a group of athletes committed to raising money for the American Cancer Society on Oct. 13. Joe raised more than $3,900 for cancer research in memory of Ritchie Paul, Bill Landers, Michael Newhouse, Maria Quinn, Thomas Cimalore, Nick Ferrigno and Brian David Callahan. Joe, a 1979 Westerly High School graduate, lives in with his wife, Tina, and their three children in Glastonbury. He finished the marathon in 2:59:22. He placed 841st out of over 38,000 finishers.
