Thanksgiving Food Drive: A Thanksgiving Food Drive will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Healthy Habits Showcase, a free health expo, in the Uncas Ballroom at Mohegan Sun. The public is invited to bring dry goods and turkeys to the event. Collection bins will be available at the door and a frozen food truck will be on site. 100 per cent of the donations of food and money will benefit the Gemma E. Mystic Seaport Field Day: Burn off Thanksgiving calories while spending quality time with family at Mystic Seaport's annual Field Days, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28 - 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the Museum's regular exhibits and demonstrations aboard tall ships, children can try their hand at 19th- century games on the Village Green, enjoy rollicking songs of the sea in a family-friendly music program and take part in a craft station. Children can also climb aboard the Museum's playscape boats, learn how sailors navigated by the stars under the planetarium dome and observe America's last wooden whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan, which has been hauled out of the water for restoration in the Museum's Shipyard. All activities, excluding planetarium programs and horse and carriage rides, are included in Museum admission. Mystic Seaport "The Museum of America and the Sea" is the nation's leading maritime museum. Santa's Arrival: Santa Claus, Winter Lady, and other holiday characters will arrive on fire trucks to Downtown Westerly on Friday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by The Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce and The Washington Trust Company. Operation Gaining Trust: South Bay Manor, 1959 Kingstown Rd., South Kingstown, R.I., will be the drop-off center for "Operation Gaining Trust,"a program started by a local grandmother to help her grandson's platoon, and the Iraqi Police gain the trust of Iraqi children. The drive will collect school supplies and sports equipment for children ages 4 to 10. All items must be easily shipped and dropped off by Dec. 8. Mystic Seaport Field Day: Burn off Thanksgiving calories while spending quality time with family at Mystic Seaport's annual Field Days, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28 - 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the Museum's regular exhibits and demonstrations aboard tall ships, children can try their hand at 19th- century games on the Village Green, enjoy rollicking songs of the sea in a family-friendly music program and take part in a craft station. Children can also climb aboard the Museum's playscape boats, learn how sailors navigated by the stars under the planetarium dome and observe America's last wooden whaleship, the Charles W. Morgan, which has been hauled out of the water for restoration in the Museum's Shipyard. All activities, excluding planetarium programs and horse and carriage rides, are included in Museum admission. Mystic Seaport "The Museum of America and the Sea" is the nation's leading maritime museum. Operation Gaining Trust: South Bay Manor, 1959 Kingstown Rd., South Kingstown, R.I., will be the drop-off center for "Operation Gaining Trust,"a program started by a local grandmother to help her grandson's platoon, and the Iraqi Police gain the trust of Iraqi children. The drive will collect school supplies and sports equipment for children ages 4 to 10. All items must be easily shipped and dropped off by Dec. 8.
