5th Annual Sea Scare: The 5th Annual Sea Scare will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration, 55 Coogan Blvd., Mystic, Conn. Participants will enjoy trick or treating down a trail lit with hundreds of carved jack o’ lanterns, games, exploration stations, haunted story tellers and special shows featuring animal stars. Admission is $19.50 for adults, $14.50 for children ages 3 to 17, $12 for adult members, $10 for member children ages 3 to 17 and free for children age 2 and under. The Rocky Horror Show: The Courthouse Center for the Arts proudly presents its fall production of "The Rocky Horror Show." This deliberately kitschy rock 'n' roll sci-fi gothic is more fun than ever. The Courthouse Center for the Arts is located at 3481 Kingstown Road, West Kingston, R.I. The show runs Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. and midnight. Purchase advance tickets by call the CCA Box Office at (401)782-1018. General admission: $20 Students, $23 Seniors, $25 Adults.
Halloween Extravaganza: A Halloween Extravaganza for ages 9 and up will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cross' Mills Public Library, 4417 Old Post Rd., Charlestown, R.I. The party will feature Halloween games, door prizes, graveyard storytelling with Jon Provost, pizza, snacks and more (costumes are optional). Nautical Nightmares: Mystic Seaport Museum will present its annual production of Nautical Nightmares starting on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Seaport, 75 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic, Conn. Tours begin nightly at 6 p.m and leave every 15 minutes. On Friday, October 31, tours begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $19 for adults, $17 for youth ages 6-18, $18 for member adults $18 and $16 for member youth ages 6-18. A $2 handling fee will be applied to all tickets. Tickets will be available online at the www.mysticseaport.org or by calling (860) 572-5331 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Great Halloween Egg Hunt: The 8th Annual Great Halloween Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Stonington Human Services, 166 S. Broad St., Pawcatuck, Conn. The event will feature a DJ, moonwalk, games, hayrides, Fritz the Stonington Police Dog, carmel apples, face painting and the famous egg hunt. Pizza, chips, popcorn, donuts and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring a flashlight. Costumes are optional. Cost is $5 per family. Rain date is Sunday, Oct. 26. Halloween at the YMCA: It's that time of year, the time for some spooky, silly fun. But parents, rest assured: at the Ocean Community YMCA, Westerly-Pawcatuck Branch on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Halloween means a safe and imaginative experience, for little goblins and their families alike. Ghosts, Goblins & Gargoyles at the Old Stone House: What secrets lurk behind the formidable stone walls of the 1639 Whitfield House in Guilford, Conn.? On Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. they're leaving the lights off and you can explore the entire building -- even the usually off-limits basement! Enjoy refreshments, craft projects, the "Holidaze" exhibit, and mini-exhibits about the Guilford Green graveyard and the Whitfield connection to the Salem witch trials. Admission: $4 adults, $3 seniors and college students, $2.50 children (6-17), and free children (5 and younger). No other discounts available during special events. Free parking. Free Hayrides: Come by Stonington Gardens at 154 Lantern Hill Rd. in Old Mystic just off Rt. 184 for free hayrides every Saturday in Oct. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visit the pigs and chickens, see our stunning fall foliage and take home a pumpkin, ornamental kale and other fall decor. Richmond Halloween Party: The Richmond Recreation Commission will sponosr a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Richmond Elementary School, 190 Kingstown Rd., Wyoming, R.I. The event is open to all Richmond residents and will include refreshments, spooky walk, ghost stories, face painting, DJ, goody bags and more. Elks Halloween Party: The Westerly Elks will host a Halloween party on Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Prizes for the scariest and most original costume! There will also be a basket Raffle to Benefit the Elks National Foundation. The Elks will offer a pot luck buffet dinner, and DJ. Tickets are $15 per person. Halloween Tricks and Treats: Just Smile Photography and Dream Dinners will host a benefit for the Westerly Area Rest Meals (WARM) Shelter on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Dream Dinners, 114 Granite St., Westerly. Children's Halloween Party: The Pioneer Hook & Ladder Company of the Stonington Borough Fire Department will hold its 68th annual Children's Halloween Party on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the firehouse, 100 Main St., Stonington, Conn. The party will begin with a parade of costumes starting at the firehouse and marching through the village. Costume judging, entertainment and refreshments will follow.
