" John Babcock's wife, Mary should also be recognized as a founder of Westerly as she was with him when he landed here. "

" Misquamicut means Salmon, doesn't it? It is what is on our town shield, too. "
JN wrote on May 30, 2008 3:43 PM:
" Actually JB, the answer is 0. Flashing lights aren't traffic lights. But if you want to go ahead and count flashing lights, then there are at least 3. You are forgetting the one in Ashaway on Main Street at Oak by the postoffice. Either way the authors got their own trivia question wrong. They probably think the Hope Valley light is in Hopkinton. "
JB wrote on Sep 20, 2007 11:04 AM:
" I disagree with the answer to Hopkinton's question about how many traffice lights are in the town.
There are 2: 1 in Hopkinton City at Woodville Road and Main Street; and 1 at the junction of Spring and Main Streets in Hope Valley.

" Gentlemen: What is wrong with each of these questions?
"Westerly was founded in 1669 by who?
Charlestown, Hopkinton, Richmond....was named after who?"
Your "who" in each of these trivia questions should be "whom"
"
