Football: Westerly 12Us top Killingly in opener

WESTERLY — Camren Lewis score two touchdowns as the Westerly 12U football team opened the South Eastern New England Youth Football Conference season with a 26-6 win against Killingly on Sunday.

Lewis scored on a pair of 1-yard runs, one in the first quarter and the other in the third. Andre Adams ran in a PAT after the first score as the Bulldogs took a 13-0 lead.

Jaesean Price put Westerly ahead 19-0 with a 27-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.

Terrell Hill scored the final Westerly TD on a 42-yard run with about three minutes left in the contest. Adams ran in the PAT to make it 26-6.

Hill had 13 tackles, five of them for a loss, and also intercepted a pass in the end zone. Brian Allen contributed nine tackles, two for a loss.

Aden Ruddock finished with four tackles for a loss and Lewis had a pair.  Westerly’s defense had 13 tackles for for a loss. 

Westerly plays at Old Saybrook next Sunday.
