Golf: Pepin takes low-gross honors in SENESGA tournament

WEST KINGSTON — Lionel Pepin shot a 79 to earn first low-gross honors in Flight A of a South Eastern New England Golf Association tournament Monday at Laurel Lane Country Club.

The format of the tournament, which had 136 players, was low gross and high points. Also in Flight A, John DelMonte’s 80 was good for second low gross, while Dennis Lambert was first high points with six, and Ed Coogan was second with three*.

Other flight results follow:

Flight B: first low gross, Joe Wolcin, 80; second, Rick Lawrence, 86*; first high points, Jim King, four; second, Jay Sperry, three.

Flight C: first low gross, Bob Zuffelato, 84; second, Gil Bricault, 86*; first high points, Paul Nunes, six*; second, Dave Izzo, six.

Flight D: first low gross, Joe Daniels, 80; second, Bill Wilcox, 89*; first high points, Frank Socha, nine*; second, Joe Light, nine.

Flight E: first low gross, Don Phillips, 86; second, Ron Laliberte, 92; first high points, Peter Heller, eight; second, George Dockray, seven.

Flight F: first low gross, Everett Griffiths, 97; second, Len Kaminski, 100; first high points, Nick Capobianco, eight; second, Ernie Wright, seven.
