WAKEFIELD — Recent Westerly High graduate Matthew Walker was the top local finisher in the 17th annual Run 4 Kerri 4 Miler on Sunday.
Walker’s time of 21:06 was good for fifth in the race, which had 456 registered finishers. Walker, 18, is set to run for the University of New Hampshire in the fall.
John Busque, 26, of Manchester, Conn., was the winner, in 19:23.
The top female was Obsie Birru of Providence. Birru, 29, finished in 22:28, 14th overall. The top local female was Cait Bradley, 31, of Charlestown. Her time of 24:41 was fourth among females and 29th overall.
Other top local males were Keith McAteer of Westerly (21:53, 11th overall); Sam Lutzel of Westerly (24:32, 27th); Jeffrey Vuono of Westerly (36th, 25:38); Nick Turo of Westerly (25:39, 37th); and Aaron Tallardy of Westerly (42nd, 26:14).
Other top females included Laura Brustolon, a former Stonington High runner, who was fifth among women and 33rd overall (25:03); Madison Lorello of Westerly (30:38, seventh female, 83rd overall); and Sarah Loughlean of Pawcatuck (33:52, 36th female, 126th overall).
There were 265 males entered in the race; 282 females.
