Golf: Beattie takes first low-gross honors in SENESGA tournament at Richmond

HOPE VALLEY — Scott Beattie won first low-gross honors with a 77 in Flight A of a South Eastern New England Senior Golf Association tournament on Monday at Richmond Country Club.

Mike Gouin was second low gross with a 78. Bob Hauser was first high points with five, and Ed Cekala was second with four*.

The format of the tournament was low gross and high points, and 144 players were involved (116 finished, 22 played nine holes and six did not start because of rain).
