YMCA slow-break: Balanced scoring carries B&T to win over Haversham House

WESTERLY — Five players finished in double figures and Benevides & Turano held off Haversham House, 69-63, in Week 3 play in the Ocean Community YMCA Slow-Break Basketball League.

James Westervelt led B&T with 15 points. Tom Gamache and Reynaldo Valentin each added 13, Steve Lake scored 12 and Kris Miller had 10.

B&T held leads of 34-33 at halftime and 49-48 after three quarters.

Mike Hamelin scored a game-high 19 points for Haversham House. Bobby Rofrano added 16 and Todd Harrington had 12.

Danny’s Bar 53, Grey Sail 44

Mike Murdock led Danny’s Bar to the win with 18 points.

Seven other players scored at least two points for Danny’s, which led 39-32 at the half.

Earl Whitford finished with 18 points for Grey Sail. Adam Falcone had 13.

Miceli’s Furniture 70, Cimini & Associates 56

Daniel Meyer led a balanced Miceli’s scoring attack with 17 points.

Ray Jones added 16 points in the victory, Adam Mancini had 15 and Tom Fabian scored 12.

Jeff Pucci led all scorers with 23 points for C&A. Craig Brideau contributed 11 and Chad Cimini had 10.

Haversham Tavern 77, Malted Barley 58

Garrett Martunas scored 21 points and Haversham Tavern pulled away in the second half.

Kevin O’Conner had 17 points and Andy Millovitsch added 11 for the Tavern, which led by just three, 30-27, at halftime.

Rob Scavello scored 16 points and Jason Woodward 15 for Malted Barley.
