Softball: Wheeler comes up short against Windham

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — Wheeler High scored twice in the sixth inning but fell short against Windham, 6-3, in an ECC Division III softball game Wednesday.

Nikki Collins and Kendra Perez each had two hits for the Lions (2-15, 0-11 Division III). Savannah Galluci added an RBI double, and Molly Butremovic singled and drove in two runs.

Perez took the loss, pitching six innings and allowing three earned runs on eight hits and three walks. She struck out nine.

Windham improved to 9-7, 5-5.

Wheeler next plays at St. Bernard on Thursday at 3 p.m.
