NORWICH — Emma Morgan scored 14 points, Molly Butremovic had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and the Wheeler High girls basketball team won its second straight game by defeating Norwich Tech, 48-30, in a nonleague contest Wednesday.
Daniela Roy added 10 points for the Lions (5-12), who put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season. They defeated Ellis Tech, 43-26, on Monday.
“We were just able to carry over the momentum from Monday’s game,” coach Christine Corah said. “The girls did an excellent job of moving the ball around the perimeter, everyone was crashing the boards and everyone was hustling. We’re finally at a good spot in the season where everybody’s work ethic is paying off.”
Sam Caster contributed seven rebounds and four assists, Morgan had four assists and two steals, and Butremovic had four assists and five blocks.
Norwich Tech dropped to 2-11.
Wheeler next plays Friday at Tourtellotte at 6 p.m.
