Boys’ basketball: Wheeler falls to Mount St. Charles

NORTH STONINGTON — Clayton Carini was the only Wheeler High player to score in double figures as the Lions fell to Mount St. Charles Academy of Woonsocket, 57-35, in a nonleague boys basketball game Wednesday.

Carini had 10 points for Wheeler (1-4). Scott Pion added nine points.

“We’re trying to get better,” Lions coach Neal Cobleigh said.

Paul Brodeur led the Mounties (2-6) with 12 points.

Wheeler next hosts Prout on Friday at 5 p.m.
