STONINGTON — Stonington High’s girls’ basketball team blanketed Woodstock defensively, holding the Centaurs to no layups Tuesday in a 55-25 ECC out-of-division victory.
Tatyana LaFrance Boyce provided plenty of offense with 22 points, while Bears’ center Margot Calmar contributed 14 points and 20 rebounds, including seven on the offensive boards, to help Stonington improve to 5-2. Woodstock dropped to 1-7.
Megan Sartor added 13 points, three assists and three steals for Stonington, which led 16-4 after one quarter and 34-10 at halftime. Annie Knizeski chipped in with eight rebounds and three assists. Clare Schlink had 11 rebounds for Stonington.
