Field hockey: Stonington’s season opener suspended by lightning

STONINGTON — Stonington High’s season-opening field hockey game Thursday against the Fitch-Ledyard co-op was halted by lighting.

The contest will resume Friday at 5 p.m. at Stonington. The Bears hold a 2-0 lead with 29:07 remaining in the second half.

Casey Boumenot and Miranda Arruda each scored first-half goals for Stonington.
