GROTON — Stonington High’s Patrick Nowak won the 100 breaststroke to help the Fitch, Stonington, Ledyard, Norwich Tech co-op team to a second-place finish in the ECC boys swimming championships Saturday at UConn-Avery Point.
Nowak topped the field with a time of 1:00.57.
East Lyme won the meet with 514 points, and the co-op team was second with 482. NFA placed third with 284.
Other Stonington swimmers also contributed to the runner-up finish.
A.J. Murko was second in the 100 backstroke (59.74) and fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:00.84).
Ian Sanok took third in the 200 freestyle (1:56.09) and fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:06.21).
Chase Simao placed fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:15.04) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:20.44). Keegan Reck finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:03.20), and Aaron Reck was sixth in the 500 free (5:45.85) and ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:08.56).
Murko, Nowak, Keegan Reck and John Marcolina finished first in the 200 medley relay (1:44.18). Joe Vignato, Keegan Reck, Nowak and Marcolina took first in the 200 free relay (1:32.58).
Vignato, Keegan Reck, Sanok and Gabe Watrous finished second in the 400 free relay (3:37.16).
