Postseason roundup: Hamilton a second-team All-Division II pick in golf for Bears

STONINGTON — Stonington High’s Grant Hamilton earned second-team All-ECC Division II golf honors this season.

Hamilton, a sophomore, finished with an average of 41.4 on the scores reported to The Sun. His average was 5.7 strokes above par.

Hamilton’s best nine-hole round was a 37 on May 2 at Great Neck Country Club in Waterford. He shot a 9-over 81 during the 18-hole ECC tournament on May 31 at Quinnatisset Country Club in Thompson.

He finished tied for 22nd at the Division III championships at Tallwood Country Club in Hebron, Conn., with a 12-over 84 on June 4.

Hamilton also received the sportsmanship award. Junior Aiden Adams was the scholar-athlete award winner.

Stonington finished 15-4, 7-3 ECC Division II. The Bears were fifth at the ECC championship tournament.
