WAPPINGER FALLS, N.Y. — Chariho High finished fourth at the Nike Cross Country Nationals Northeast Regional Saturday in Bowdoin Park.
Chariho finished with 209 points in the Open race. The event also had a higher-level Championship race.
Since the Open race had so many entrants it was run in two segments. The segments were combined for the final results.
Evan O’Neil was the first Chariho runner across the line placing fourth in 17:12. Garrett Miller was sixth in 17:16 over the 3.1-mile course.
They finished first and second in their segment.
Tim Champlin was 63rd in 18:24. The other two scorers for the Charges were C.J. Elwell (80th, 18:39) and Dan Nimiroski (86th, 18:42).
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYLaCroix finishes seventh
Chariho’s Elizabeth LaCroix placed seventh in the Open race with a time of 21:20.
Abigail Cole was 62nd in 23:12. Tia Sardelli, who spent the fall playing soccer, competed and finished 81st in 23:41. Since Chariho had just three runners it to did have enough for a team score.
The meet concluded the season for both the boys and girls teams.
