WOOD RIVER JCT. — Alison Klein scored three goals, Spencer Shiels had two goals and an assist and Chariho High rolled past Johnston, 7-1, in a Division II girls soccer game Tuesday.
Shiels got the Chargers (2-1-1, 2-0-1 Division II) on the board five minutes into the game. The Panthers (0-2-1, 0-2-1), who moved up to D-II this season, scored late in the first half to make it 4-1.
Lindsay Shields added one goal and one assist for Chariho. Brianna Delcour scored once, Emily Feisthamel had two assists and Aza DiBiasio, Megan Hill and Hannah Orciari each had one assist.
Coach Brittney Godbout said the contest offered the Chargers an opportunity to work on their passing combinations.
“This was a slower game for us, so we really wanted to perfect our passes,” she said. “The girls did really well.”
Chariho finished with a 20-9 shots advantage. Caitlin O’Leary made nine saves in goal.
The Chargers next play at Lincoln School on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
