Former Rite-Aid employee charged with theft of prescription pills from Westerly pharmacy

WESTERLY — A former employee of Rite-Aid is facing charges after the Westerly police said an investigation found that she had illegally obtained prescription medications. The woman, Caroline Cecilia Walsh, 25, of 92 High St., Apt. 3, Westerly, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of larceny of a controlled substance.

The police said she was working on May 16 when she took “a number of prescription pills from the pharmacy.” The theft was detected during inventory and was reported to police. Walsh was released on bond and is expected to appear in Fourth Division District Court later this month.
