Police dive team practicing drill locates actual human body in R.I. river



WARWICK (AP) — The Warwick Police Department’s dive team was conducting a routine body recovery drill on Wednesday when it came across an actual human body.

The team had been practicing search and recovery skills on the Pawtuxet River. Members were  searching for a mannequin that had been hidden in the river when they found the body of a man in his 40s instead, The Providence Journal reported.

Warwick Police Chief Stephen McCartney the police had tentatively identified the man, but were not  releasing more details until his family had been notified.
