Police from 9 departments make drug sweep at Stonington High School; no drugs found

STONINGTON — Police with K-9 teams from eight agencies conducted an unannounced sweep of Stonington High School lockers and property Tuesday morning.

No illegal narcotics were found, according to a press release issued by Capt. Todd Olson.

The sweep was conducted with the cooperation and permission of the Stonington school administration.

The Stonington Police Department K-9 unit was assisted by K-9 teams from Connecticut State Police and Groton Town, Montville, Norwich, Waterford and Westerly police.

“Utilizing other department assets allows us to conduct the sweep more efficiently and limits the disruption of the school day,” Olson said. The sweep took approximately 15 minutes and started at 8:30 a.m.
