Girl, 17, arrested after fight at Chariho-Westerly football game



RICHMOND — A 17-year-old Charlestown girl is facing charges after police said she punched another girl in front of police officers at the Chariho-Westerly football game last week.

According to police, Sgt. William Litterio and Patrolman Brock Taylor were on assignment Friday night at the Chargers-Bulldogs game when they saw the fight. Police said the victim was struck by several punches. The two were quickly separated and no injuries were reported. Police said the second girl was not charged.

The 17-year-old, a Chariho student, was arrested at about 9 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. The Richmond police said she was released into the custody of a family member and the case was forwarded to Family Court.
