Local Boy Scouts, including Rees Harold of Pawcatuck, were honored at the Narraganset Council Boy Scouts of America traditional “Gathering of Eagles” event at the Rhode Island State House in October. The annual event recognized scouts who have received the Eagle Scout award in the last three years within the council, with an emphasis on those who received the award this past year. Rhode Island Lt. Gov. Daniel J. McKee and U.S. Rep. Jim Langevin recognized the hard work and accomplishments of this year’s group of Eagle Scouts in a brief ceremony in the State Room. 254 Scouts from the Narragansett Council earned Eagle in the last year, completing 38,194 hours of community service. Eagles who attended this year’s event were accompanied by their families, friends, members of the Narragansett Council staff and board and local volunteer Scout leaders.
