Beacon Hospice in North Kingstown is seeking local volunteers to visit our hospice patients in the Westerly area. Hospice gives patients who are facing a life-limiting illness the freedom to live all the days of their lives by offering comfort, dignity and quality of life. As an important part of our hospice care team, you can help improve the quality of life for our patients, as well as their families and caregiver, by offering companionship, playing music, reading to the patient, and caregiver respite. Volunteers are needed between 9 and 10 a.m. to assist with packing items for client pickup between 1 and 3 p.m. Volunteers will be interviewed and are required to undergo criminal background checks, which will be fully covered.
