Southern RhodeIsland Volunteers

Help a local homebound senior by volunteering to do grocery shopping for them or driving them to the grocery store. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that can be based around your schedule and is a great way to help those in need.

Volunteer Judges for 4-H Public Presentations needed on March 3 at 12:30 p.m. You don’t need to be an expert speaker, just compassionate and fair. The judges will be provided with rules, guidelines, sample score sheets and orientation help before the start of the contest.

Beacon Hospice

Beacon Hospice in North Kingstown is seeking local volunteers to visit our hospice patients in the Westerly area. Hospice gives patients who are facing a life-limiting illness the freedom to live all the days of their lives by offering comfort, dignity and quality of life. As an important part of our hospice care team, you can help improve the quality of life for our patients, as well as their families and caregiver, by offering companionship, playing music, reading to the patient, and caregiver respite. Tri-CountyCommunityAction Agency

Volunteers are needed who can support the food distribution program, located at 34 Pond St. in Westerly. Distribution is on the last Tuesday of each month. Volunteers are needed between 9 and 10 a.m. to assist with packing items for client pickup between 1 and 3 p.m. Volunteers will be interviewed and are required to undergo criminal background checks, which will be fully covered. Westerly Hospital

Adult volunteers help in our Emergency Department. Candidates must be customer focused, flexible, and willing to work in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment. Frank Olean Centerin Westerly

The Frank Olean Center, 93 Airport Road in Westerly, seeks volunteers to help fill a variety of needs. The agency serves children and adults with varying abilities. Hours can be tailored to fit your schedule.
