Southern RhodeIsland Volunteers

SRIV is looking for for help with grocery shopping for the independent aging program. Grocery shop with or for a senior who needs it. Help continue to put food on a senior’s table and make a difference in their life.

Volunteer with SRIV at the Charlestown Seafood Festival August 3-5. Volunteers are needed to work the Exit Booth and hand out wristbands to people who want to re-enter the event.

A farmers market in Charlestown is looking for volunteers until Labor Day to help with set-up, break down, parking, greeting customers and more. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students and people looking to fill community service hours.

Stonington Community Center

The COMO is looking for volunteers fo help with its annual Village Fair. Volunteer shifts are available Saturday, Aug. 4, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., to set up  games, work concessions, help with the book sale, ticket sales, and fair break down. Beacon Hospice in North Kingstown is seeking local volunteers to visit our hospice patients in the Westerly area. You can help improve the quality of life for patients and caregivers by offering companionship, playing music, reading to the patient and providing caregiver respite. Volunteers are needed who can support the food distribution program at 34 Pond St. in Westerly on the last Tuesday of each month. Volunteers are needed between 9 and 10 a.m. to help with packing items for pickup between 1 and 3 p.m. Volunteers are required to undergo criminal background checks. Adult volunteers help in our Emergency Department. Candidates must be customer focused, flexible, and willing to work in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment.
