Today's weather for Feb. 22: Rain and cooler temperatures



It’ll be wet and not quite as warm the next few days, but it appears the shoreline may be spared from the bulk of the possible winter weather. 

According to the National Weather Service, greater Westerly can expect rain on Thursday, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 41. New precipitation amounts of between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.

Thursday night will then bring cooling temperatures with a low around 31. There will be a chance of rain and sleet likely before 4 a.m., then a slight chance of sleet after 5 a.m. Little or no sleet accumulation is expected.

On Friday, there’s a slight chance of rain or freezing rain before 8 a.m., then a 100 percent chance of rain during the day with a high near 41.
