MEAL MENU

For reservations, call Edie at 401-596-7216. Recommended donation is $3. Please make reservations on Thursdays for the next week. Menu is subject to change by the caterer.

Monday – Today’ meal is cream of mushroom soup, chicken a la king, mashed potato, whole grain bread and pudding. Secondary option is turkey club on wheat.

Tuesday – Today’ meal is kale and bean soup, meatloaf with gravy, roasted potato, spinach and fruit. Secondary option is Italian grinder.

Wednesday – Today’s meal is Venus de Milo soup, chicken kabobs with veggies, rice Florentine, whole wheat roll and coffee cake. Secondary option is roast beef on wheat roll.

Thursday – Today’s meal is Italian wedding soup, pot roast with gravy, roasted sweet potato, green beans and cupcakes. Secondary option is chicken salad on wheat.

Friday – Today’s meal is vegetable stew, sausage and pepper sandwich on wheat roll, chips, creamed spinach and fruit. Secondary option is tuna salad plate.

TRIPS

Flyers for all trips are available in the tan box at the end of the counter at the front office and are displayed on the bulletin board outside the front office.

911 Museum with dinner at Tony DiNapoli’s Restaurant – Saturday, April 28. Cost: $34 per person due on reservation. Departs: 6:45 a.m. from Ashaway, Exit 1. ETA: 11 a.m. Visit the 9/11 Museum in New York and roam the gardens or grab a quick bite to eat. Lunch is at Tony Napoli’s with chicken Parmesan, 2 pasta dishes, Caesar salad, and a dessert plate. Ellis Island & Statue Of Liberty – Tuesday, May 15. Cost: $84. The trip heads to the Battery Park ferry and across New York Harbor to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Return to Battery Park by 5:45 p.m. for a 6 p.m. departure home. If you wish to reserve pedestal or crown tickets, you must do so separately online. Do not book a reservation before 1 p.m. At Ellis Island, a 45-minute audio tour is included. (South Kingstown Parks & Recreation)

Bronx Zoo – Saturday, June 23. Cost: $92 or $88 for children due at time of reservation. Departs 7:45 a.m. from Exit 1 in Ashaway. Trip includes transportation, admission, all inclusive ticket, and a raffle for kids. (Gourmet)

Thursday — Line dancing 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Walmart shopping 11 a.m.- call the PNC for free van transportation to the store.

Friday — Strength and balance exercise class 9-10 a.m.; writing class 10:15-11:45 a.m.; shopping at Stop & Shop in Pawcatuck at 11 a.m. – call the PNC for free van transportation to the store. Book Club meets the third Friday of each month, call for monthly selections.

CHARLESTOWN

Painting group: Painting with Peers meets on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. This is a casual painting group; work on your own project with peer suggestions and advice.

Mahjong Mondays. Every Monday at 1 p.m. All levels welcome, no formal instruction at this time.

Family Supper is moving to a new location: St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 15 East Beach Road, 401-322-0088. Tuesday, March 27, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This meal is free to all members of the community.

Volunteers needed: We are looking for drivers to deliver meals for the Charlestown Meals on Wheels Program, please call 364-9955.
