MEAL MENU

For reservations, call Edie at 401-596-7216. Recommended donation is $3. Please make reservations on Thursdays for the next week. Menu is subject to change by the caterer.

Tuesday – Today’s meal is creamy chicken and rice soup, roasted pork loin with gravy, mashed cauliflower, peas and carrots, and dessert. Secondary option is BLT on wheat.

Wednesday – Today’s meal is black bean soup, Spanish meatballs, wild whole grain risotto, baby carrots, and dessert. Secondary option is egg salad on wheat.

Thursday – Today’s meal is tomato soup, chicken cordon bleu with gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, wheat roll, and dessert. Secondary option is iceberg wedge with chicken.

Friday – Today’s meal is R.I. clam chowder, fish and chips with tartar sauce, coleslaw, and dessert. Secondary option is corned beef Reuben on rye.

TRIPS

Flyers for all trips are available in the tan box at the end of the counter at the front office and are displayed on the bulletin board outside the front office.

Parker’s Maple Barn – Tuesday, March 20. Cost: $70. Deposit: $5. Balance due: March 1. Departs at 7:30 a.m. for Mason, N.H., to experience a maple sugaring tour, gift shop, and lunch. Then it’s off to Smith’s Country Cheese for a quick tour and cheese tasting. Coffee stops will be made on the way to New Hampshire and on the way home (South Kingstown Parks & Rec).

“Exit Laughing” at the Newport Playhouse – Monday, April 9. Cost: $87 due at time of booking. Buffet dinner theater with the play, then dessert and cabaret (Friendship Tours).

Atlantic City – May 29 to 31. Cost: $254 p.p. double or triple, $338 single, insurance available. Includes two nights at Resorts Casino Hotel, transportation, and casino bonus of $30 slots, $10 food credit, show, and 2-$20 meal credits (Friendship Tours).

NEEDED

Wheelchairs with foot rests, transport wheelchairs, shower benches, shower chairs, transfer benches, three- or four-prong canes, walkers with wheels, and “strollers” in good, used condition to lend to area seniors.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Aqua Turf Club, Wednesday, March 21, featuring The Maclean Avenue Band. $75 per person includes bus transportation and family style lunch at the club. Call Barbara at 860-599-3285, extension 15, for any questions.

Wednesday— The Stonington Free Library is coming to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. Patrons may use their Stonington or Connecticut library card or apply for one. Borrow, renew, and browse, or do research. Bring a list of books you would like to borrow and they will bring the books. Learn to search the digital library catalog, how to use a Kindle or other e-reader, and how to borrow e-books through the library. Zumba Lite 9-10 a.m.; lunch at 11:30 a.m. of pot roast, roasted potatoes, Capri vegetable medley and dessert. Bingo after lunch; Tai Chi 1 to 2 p.m.

Thursday — First and third Thursdays enjoy coffee, coloring and conversation, 9 to 10:30 a.m.; second and fourth Thursday of the each month, Veterans Coffee House 8:30 a.m.; line dancing 9:30-11:30 a.m.; Walmart shopping 11 a.m.; dominoes, puzzles or board games from noon-2:30 p.m.

Painting group:  Painting with Peers meets on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. This is a casual painting group; work on your own project with peer suggestions and advice.

AARP Tax Preparation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday only. No reservations — first come, first served.  Please bring your tax information with you.
