Southern RhodeIsland Volunteers

SRIV is in critical need of drivers to provide medical transportation drivers to drive local seniors in need to their medical appointments. This is a flexible opportunity that revolves around your schedule. If you can help support your local seniors call 401-552-7661.

Zoo crew counselor in training volunteers needed at Roger Williams Park Zoo. This opportunity is open to teens in grades 7-12. All Zoo Crew teen volunteers will learn important leadership and communication skills as a part of a passionate team.  Applications due January 21.

The Domestic Violence Resource Center is looking for volunteers for Hotline Advocates: Answer calls from victims and family members of domestic violence; special event volunteers: Attend community events to spread the word about DVRCSC and its services, bulk mail helpers, and child care volunteers. Training is required and provided.

Volunteer with Neighbors Helping Neighbors RI. Are you a handyman, carpenter or contractor and have some extra time on your hands? Perhaps you are retired and want to put your skills to good use. We need you to volunteer with our projects team. We provide free home repairs to qualified low-income homeowners in South County. Beacon Hospice

Beacon Hospice in North Kingstown is seeking local volunteers to visit our hospice patients in the Westerly area. Hospice gives patients who are facing a life-limiting illness the freedom to live all the days of their lives by offering comfort, dignity and quality of life. As an important part of our hospice care team, you can help improve the quality of life for our patients, as well as their families and caregiver, by offering companionship, playing music, reading to the patient, and caregiver respite. Tri-County CommunityAction Agency

Volunteers are needed who can support the food distribution program, located at 34 Pond St. in Westerly. Distribution is on the last Tuesday of each month. Volunteers are needed between 9 and 10 a.m. to assist with packing items for client pickup between 1 and 3 p.m. Volunteers will be interviewed and are required to undergo criminal background checks, which will be fully covered. Westerly Hospital

Adult volunteers are to help in our Emergency Department. Candidates must be customer focused, flexible, and willing to work in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment. Frank Olean Centerin Westerly

The Frank Olean Center, 93 Airport Road in Westerly, seeks volunteers to help fill a variety of needs. The agency serves children and adults with varying abilities. Hours can be tailored to fit your schedule.
