CARD SHARKS

Have some fun and earn a few prizes Tuesday at St. Clare Church Parish Center at the Card & Game Party from 1 to 4 p.m., sponsored by the church’s hospitality ministry. Tickets are $10 per person and include snacks, desserts, coffee, tea and water. Create your own group of four and call 401-348-8765.

PEACEFUL OPPORTUNITY

Head to Wilcox Park Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. for a “A Walking Meditation” sponsored by Christ Church Pastoral Care Commission. Everyone is welcome to participate for as long — or as short — as they choose. Meet on the front walkway of the church. Rain date is June 14 at the same time.

A TISKET, A TASKET

Bring your basket to the first farmers market of the season Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. when The Westerly Land Trust opens for 2018, featuring local farmers selling fresh fruits, veggies and flowers, eggs, honey, bakery items, herbs, fresh goat cheese and dog treats. PREPARE FOR MT. CARMEL

Join members of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast Committee Saturday night at the Calabrese Club for a dinner to honor the deceased members of the committee and to prepare for the annual feast, which will take place this year from July 11 to July 15. Tickets for the dinner, which will include an invocation by Father Giaccomo Caproverde, comments from Committee President Jay Trebisacci, and authentic music from Calabria Bella, are $20 per ticket and are available from members and at the Immaculate Conception Church rectory.

KICK UP YOUR HEELS

Head to the senior center Friday for some old-fashioned dancing when the Surfside 8 Square Dance Club holds a “Tribute to Dad” square dance. The cost is a $7 donation for dancers, and it’s free for observers. For more information, call 860-245-0164 or 401-596-1263. 

HONK HONK

Drive on over to Central Baptist Church on Elm Street on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a Father’s Day car show featuring more than 50 cars on display, along with music, food and drink.

BEE THE BUZZ

Be in the in crowd Saturday when Christine Ohlman, longtime vocalist of the Saturday Night Live Band, rings in the hip-shakin’ Summer of 2018 at the Knick with Cliff Goodwin, Lorne Entress, Matt York, and special guest Boston Bass God Wolf Ginandes. VIKING FIRE

Meet friends at Stone Acres Farm Friday night for a Viking Fire Dinner cooked outside over an open wood fire, and paired with tasty drinks, while a traditional Viking storyteller spins a weave under the Stonington stars.
