Rhode Island primaries set for Wednesday because of religious holiday; Westerly polling-place change

WESTERLY — Voters in Westerly who formerly cast their ballots at the Bradford School will now vote at Faith Bible Chapel at 115 Ashaway Road.

The primaries are being held Wednesday, Sept. 12, this year, and not on Tuesday, because of Rosh Hashanah. The Jewish holiday began Sunday evening and will continue through Tuesday evening.

Polls are open in Westerly from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The full list of polling stations for Westerly are:

■Precinct 3601: Bradford Citizens Club, 124 Woody Hill Road■Precinct 3602: Westerly High School gymnasium, 23 Ward Ave.■Precinct 3603: State Street School gymnasium, 35 State St.■Precinct 3604: Venice Restaurant, 165 Shore Road■Precinct 3605: Westerly Middle School, 10 Sandy Hill Road■Precinct 3606: Springbrook School, 43 Springbrook Road■Precinct 3607: Faith Bible Chapel, 115 Ashaway Road
