WESTERLY — Entries are being sought in a contest to select a logo to mark the town’s 350th anniversary. The designs should include a reference to the 350th celebration, the years 1669 and 2019, and the Town of Westerly.
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Sept. 30. Entries should be submitted to: Westerly350@gmail.com
A tagline or slogan is optional. The Westerly 350th Committee, which will determine the winner of the contest, reserves the right to eliminate the tagline or slogan from the logo.
Designs must be the original work of the entrant and should not include trademarked photographs or designs that would require licensing. Logos cannot use the words “official seal” but can incorporate elements of the official town seal.
Designs should be effective in both color or black and white; and blue is preferred as a dominant color but is not required. The designs should meet the following requirements: jpeg, png, and eps formats, at least 300 dpi, full resolution, uncropped, and must be scalable.
The design will be used in marketing the 350th celebration in printed materials, online, on merchandise, and other ways as determined by the committee.
Participants are required to indemnify and hold the committee harmless from claims of rights violations. The committee will have the right to use and display submitted designs during the course of the contest, and the designs, upon submission, become the property of the committee.
Submissions should include the artists name, address and phone number. Those who submit more than one design should number digital copies in the same title name.
The winner will be awarded a $200 Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce gift certificate. Second place will be a $100 chamber gift certificate; third place a $50 chamber gift certificate.
