Get into the holiday spirit with sticks and song Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. when the Westerly Library hosts a holiday show with Fiddle N’ Fun, a musical program for kids and adults. Visit www.westerlylibrary.org for more information.

YOU WILL SURVIVE

Take a break from the wrapping and shopping and head to the Granite Theatre for a performance of “A Christmas Survival Guide” for a dose of holiday silliness and song. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, $22 for patrons 62 and older, and $15 for children. DANCE WITH THE DOLLY

Kick up your heels and join the fun at the Mystic Contra Dance on Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Frohsinn Hall in Mystic featuring a dance caller and live music. No need to bring a partner and a beginners’ workshop will be held at 7:45 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Visit mysticdance.webs.com  for more information.

CHRISTMAS IN SONG

Wrap in your warmest winter woolies and head to the Watch Hill Chapel Friday Join the carolers and listen to the sounds of the season with Christmas bells, hymns and songs. The event is free but guests are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for the Johnnycake Center of Westerly. Music starts at 5 p.m.; Watch Hill Chapel, 5 Bluff Ave., Watch Hill.

BOTTLES AND BALLROOM

Put on your dancing shoes and head to the Tapped Apple Winery on 37 High St., in Westerly Tuesday, to take some lessons in ballroom dancing while enjoying some hand-crafted wines. VISIONS OF SUGARPLUMS

Design the perfect cookies and cupcakes with a selection of icing, candies and scrumptious toppings Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the drawing room at Ocean House at a “Cookie & Cupcake Decorating Class.” Cost is $25 per person. Visit oceanhouseevents.com to register.

Gather up the kiddies and head to the Westerly Public library Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. when the jolly man with a beard of snowy white and a suit of red makes his annual appearance. CHRISTMAS BLUES

Head to the Knickerbocker Music Center Wednesday to enjoy the high energy music of The Chris Leigh Band with guitarist and vocalist Chris Leigh, drummer Bob Christina, keyboardist Rufus Davis, and bassist Tommy Reed. The band draws it's influences from the great tradition of American blues and roots based music and will bring a dynamic show guaranteed to entertain you with stellar musicianship and rhythms that’ll make you move. Tickets are $10 (a $2 servicecharge Included with online tickets. A free dance lesson starts at 7 p.m.

TAKE A HIKE

Join members of the The Westerly Land Trust Thursday at 9:40 a.m. for a a hike through Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park. Hikers should wear solid daylight fluorescent orange as it is hunting season.
