Stonington Human Services to hold its first Benefit Golf Classic

STONINGTON — Stonington Human Services will hold its first Benefit Golf Classic on Oct. 1 at Stonington Country Club.

The tournament will support a wide range of Human Services programs, which have allocated more than $30,000 in program scholarship awards over the past five years to residents for summer camp opportunities, youth sports clinics, enrichment and literacy programs and nutritional cooking classes, among others.

The fundraiser will also benefit recreation and sports leagues for children, send children to summer camp, provide preschool for children ages 3-5 and give a needy child a new pair of warm boots or shoes for school.

The competition will also help pay for utilities and rent for residents during times of hardship and provide funding for trips and special events for adults and homebound seniors.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. Call 860-535-5015 for more information.
