There’s rain on the way Friday, the start of a wet weekend that could bring several inches of precipitation and possible flooding to the southern New England coastline.
According to the National Weather Service, greater Westerly can expect rain Friday with a high near 46 and new amounts of between 1 and 2 inches possible. It will be breezy at 19 to 24 mph with gusts as high as 55 mph at times, and a flood watch will remain in effect.
Friday night will then bring rain and possible snow before 11 p.m., with snow also likely between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. It will remain breezy, with regular winds of around 25 mph and gusts up to 55 mph. Little to no acumulation is expected.
Saturday will then bring a chance of rain, mainly before 8 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 43 and wind gusts of up to 45 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
