Temperatures could pass 55 degrees today, but it will also bring rain that could potentially cause some flash flooding in the region overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, the greater Westerly area can expect an 80 percent chance of rain on Friday with thunderstorms also possible after about 4 p.m. It will be breezy, with a south wind of 11 to 20 mph, and temperatures are expected to reach a high of 56.
Friday night will bring additional rain with Westerly set to receive as much as 1 to 2 inches and potentially heavy rainfall coming during the overnight hours. There will be a south wind of 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 37 mph. In addition, there is a strong potential for fog and a flood watch will remain in effect.
Saturday will bring another day of rain, with a thunderstorm possible before 11 a.m. Rain will then begin to give way around 1 p.m. There will be a high of 50.
