PROVIDENCE — Gov. Gina Raimondo said a hacker tried to gain access to state government servers, but the attack was blocked. The governor told WJAR-TV on Friday that the thwarted hacking occurred about a month ago, on a Friday night.
Cybersecurity experts protected the information that the hacked had singled out. State police and the state’s cybersecurity officer worked with the National Guard, she said, adding that the hacker may have been trying to shut down state services or steal personal information.
