MYSTIC — In cooperation with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, the Mystic Aquarium is offering free admission to residents of the state who are receiving SNAP food benefits, from now until Dec. 31, 2018. Guests can take along four other people for free. Any additional three guests can get in for $5 per person. All children in the party who are under age 5 will be admitted free. To be admitted, participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program must show their EBT card and a valid ID that matches the EBT card.

Gov. Dannel Malloy, who announced the program, said it was “a testament to Mystic Aquarium's commitment to providing a fun, safe learning environment for all Connecticut residents, regardless of their socioeconomic status.” Regular admissions to the aquarium are expensive, ranging from nearly $37 for adults to $27 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 2 are free.
